As we age, the hunger is still there for adventure, but we have less and less capacity to digest the adventure; we must take smaller and smaller bites of it, as Messner says in his way, "To begin and then end on a small peak."

He's the original human mountain goat! Strong, courageous - and more than a little crazy! Climb Everest without oxygen? Alone? Wow! From a time when "men were men!"

Messner is super human, Everest twice without oxygen, first to complete the 14 eight-thousanders. Jerzy has an impressive resume, but he is no Messner.

Jerzy Kukuczka (wiki) - "He climbed all summits EXCEPT for Mount Everest without use of supplemental oxygen.
