When I was an printing apprentice, the worst job doing was printing envelopes on a Heidelberg GTO-52-4 .. :) - That was in 2001-2004

OK what exactly is your question. Obviously he made the type casting to create the letters (there is a video about casting it on youtube) and being able to create the type (the letters) wa his major improvement. These letters were then placed to create the page and then the press was used. The major contribution was in casting the letters used.
