  • Dude, I have to bet me one of these! Was this an eBay find?

  • @TwinMillMC

I was a dump find. I'm not getting this kind of rubbish on Ebay ;)

  • That is interesting, I wonder if it was made for kids. It was very impressive looking until you took the top off and explained the construction. But it does work.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio

Seems like this thing was made for kids and judging by all the permanent marker paintings that were on this thing it was used by kids. But Bontempi also made a version of this organ that was brown with a lot of wood grain effect wich would be aimed more towards older users.

  • oh wow! that reminds me of a smaller version keyboard my mom got me back when I was little, I really wanted an electronic keyboard but she got me a smaller version of this that took batteries. I ended up taking it apart after a while to see how it worked :P it sounds really cool! I don't think you should throw it away, why not try selling it on ebay or giving it away?

  • @coolbluelights

This thing has already been thrown away before I uploaded this video. Nobody would want to have this. It's absolutely filthy and nasty.

  • It's just a reed style organ, nothing strange. You might not realize how many great recordings have magnaton organs and Hohner melodicas on them. I 'won' a red metal Hohner melodica on ebay the first week of ebay for $13. I loved that thing!

There is music in that organ you probably pitched just because it was dirty.

  • @AllAmericanFiveRadio - I remember seeing them in toy stores 35 years ago. And Bontempi still makes toy instruments.

  • Sounds more like an accordion than a flute or melotron.

  • you were quite good at playng it

  • I had a Magnus "Chord Organ" and they were popular kids toys in the 60's and early 70's. Yours sounds just like it!

  • I've definitely seen those Bontempi's in brown but I don't see them around as often as I used to. That was really interesting to see the innards. And musically, you sounded much like a lot of experimental music that passes for great art (:->

  • I like this organ its like how a real organ would work.

  • The original "tablehooter"!

  • That's what called a chord organ.

  • I had one of these when I was really young, I believe my grandmother gave it to me, my Dad must have used it as a child perhaps, I have no idea where it went or what happened to it in the end. I didn't know it was made by Bontempi, they're Italian aren't they? I liked that keyboard, I did learn to play keyboard at school, but I didn't practice anywhere near as much as I was supposed to, I like the sound the blower makes when it's on, the one I had was cream coloured.
