Short Pants - 1954

My grandfather was a film hobbyist. In the 50s, he engineered a technique to sync up sound to some of his films, at a time when home movies were silent.

Last winter I dug up those 16mm films. I digitally transferred the films and their soundtracks, and used my computer to sync them up.

This one, "Short Pants," I edited down a bit, and added some transitions. It tells the story of a simple sewing alteration gone wrong.

Great job by your grandfather!  Dig around for some other stuff he and his friends did! Today we click away hours of video without a thought, but back in the day, your grandfather had to have quite an investment in both equipment and the cost of shooting!
