there is something about France that always brought out he best in Miles Davis
-
I had this on Columbia Masterworks in 1971 as "Frantic" I gave it to some one to listen to, and never got it back.
Columbia discontinued it and I search for 25 years, finally it was released as "Frantic" (which has some nice material on the second side not from the movie) again, and as "L'Ascenseur Pour l' achafaud."
How could this not be in print for so long?...
-
right! i just watched the "Miles Davis Story" on DVD on my laptop and i immediately searched for THIS film, cause it was so interesting how this thing has been created.. miles and a group of french musicians got this movie projected on a screen and they improvised to it.. Nothing was written down, miles just said some harmonies before they startet playing..
this is so beautiful!!!
