This is but one part of American music history. To those of other countries, please remember America is made of different races, and each one has it's own musical history. Native American's are of course the Original Americans, and they have their music and oral history that is often forgotten and neglected by the white man..but it is still there. So to the Latin & Spanish races, the Negro race, and the French & Irish. This is what makes the USA so musically rich..it's eclectic racial tapestry.

God bless the people who keep our heritage alive. The singers and those who record them, I hope there's someone out there walking in Mr. Lomax's footsteps today, though I fear there isn't.

"Little Margaret" is Child ballad 74, Sharp number 17. Search Wikipedia for "Wallin Family" to get more information on the singers of Madison County, NC.
