I'll try to explain how I do it. I block the back of the harmonica with my hands, making it air tight. When I draw a chord, the air can't come in, except where I let it come in. With my thumb on the high end of the harmonica, I let the air come in the hole I want to play, between my thumb and cheek. Hope that helped!
