real life, is indeed poetry, and poetry isn't all butterflies and rainbows. there is no set definition of what the content of poetry is limited to. walt witman wrote of escapades with men often in his works. you sound like a misinformed, close minded (or maybe sheltered) person who things art belongs in a box.

@nef2442 she 's telling a story reflective of real world issues - artistically. she's speak to the tragedy of the human experience. when pedophilia occurs, the direct victims aren't the only ones with the liberty to speak of its horrific nature.

There is nothing poetic about selling a baby girl for crack. Using poetry as a form of sunlight for the purpose of trying to expose something as degrading as pedophilia is WAK! I wanted to bathe after hearing this grimy piece of oratory. If I showed a video of pedophiles raping little kids in exchange for crack money, would you get up off of your seat clapping? Hell no, so why the hell are these people clapping after hearing such a filthy sample of narrative?

@lestmbly Have you responded to so many that we've become muddled in your mind? Did you even read my post? I never said Sanchez' piece was beautiful but I will not repeat my opinion. Nor do I really think you want me to enlighten you in any way. Thus far it appears all you want is to strong arm me & others into agreeing with your opinions. That is not a dialogue. Not being one to waste time on pointless endeavors I now step off the field and leave you to your work. Enjoy.

Putting an entire piece of text in all caps doesn't make it better. Just gives the feeling that you are yelling at your reader. If you have something worthwhile to say why not post your own video poetry? Surely responding to the multiple comments of people regarding a video that you did not post over a poem that you did not write is...not the best use of your time. It's obvious that you have let this youtube offering get under your skin. I feel sorry for you.

appeal to @lestmbly. you say you are a black poet (yea i've read some of your comments) then please share samplings of your own work on youtube. give us a taste of your brand of beautiful, meaningful and redemptive art. you say Sanchez' work is crap, well then put your work out there as a counter balance. show and tell time for the year 2012.
