I have an orange belt in jujutsu and a yellow belt in Judo but I didn't grade in Karate.

I can live better with low level applications from low level practioners. Done whith their belt for all to see.

I also think it is good to get to know the BIG ego trap named teaching early.

Hopefully by his shodan he has left both behind already. Due to his experiments here.

Maybe he already just graps the ear, hair or neck in the gedan barai turn instead of a misplaced seoi nage.

There is a difference between basic and misunderstood bunkai.
