I don't think you quite understand. He is asking Jesus to take him as he is, a sinner who was destined to eternal damnation. Thankfully God sacrificed his Son, Jesus Christ, who took all of his Father's wraith from the sin of the world. Those who believe that Jesus is the Messiah and saved us from death are the ones who can be secure in life, always be reminding that He is watching us and He will ALWAYS be there! I am so thankful that He took me as I was! This song is so great! :)

This song is so on point. I love it. I sing it all the time. You find so many people judging you instead of waiting for God to do his job. Only you and God know your heart. No disrespect to Mr.Phelps whatsoever - I love his rendition, but you have to hear how this song is sung by a little girl called Rhema Marvanne. Since it seems youtube would not let me post a link in my comments (tried a few times), you can easily find the song by typing RHEMA JUST AS I AM in the Search box. God bless!
