Cruising the River in my Spectrum 16' sport aluminum boat in rough weather. It gets much rougher toward the end of the video.

  • that is some of the worst pounding ive ever seen on a 1 foot chop

  • @Boatboy6 It was more like a 2 foot chop......lol...... It was very windy that day and very choppy, lots of fun.......

  • Bozo, That is not the Rocks bridge MR. NO IT ALL, and this vid was taken in November when there is no docks in the water at all this far up river. Also the waves in the river were bigger than my little boats wake...

Camaro, In one of my other vids I do take this boat threw the mouth but it was calm that day. I am not stupid, lol, I have been threw the mouth in crazy crazy conditions in one of my larger boats..

  • I can feel the waves beating though the hull to my feet. Very nice video!

  • @StarbucksChunks i agree with you man, after fishing the past 6 weekends in 5-6 foot waves for stripers in my 18 foot boat, i'm really looking into a 23' grady white or a 25' walk around. it scares the crap out of you when you start taking waves over the front or over the side while drifting.

  • Fine example of why I won't set foot on a boat under 23' if I can avoid it. Went around Southport Island (near Boothbay Harbor ME)solo on a little 17' POS. Everything was fine until I got closer to open ocean around the southern most part of the island where I started running into 6-7ft swells. Made for a nice workout hanging on to the boat and doing my best to ride the crest of the swells. But with boats that small, a little chop will beat the crap out of you. As shown in your video.

  • put some weight in the bow if you can, it really helps reduce the pounding. i had a 14 foot alumacraft jon boat and i put about 100lbs in the front and it would go through most 1-2 footers...i sold that boat last year and bought an 18' cabin runabout and it's a great boat now that i have it balanced out. i put most of my gear in the cabin and trim my motor all the way down and it doesn't even feel these waves...goes right through the 4-5 foot chops from tugs and cargo ships.

  • i have a spectrum to... what year is yours and were did you buy the canvas top

  • @2qwk looks like it hurts...

  • bozo- the rocks village bridge is a no wake zone
