Haha. Since when were dark brown skinned people considered Caucasian? It's funny how all the racists that read the book couldn't deduce from the description of Rue that she may not have been of, at least 100%, Caucasian descent. It's probably safe to say that with a racist mentality comes severe cognitive impairment.

I like how everyone talks about Rue, that the book very clearly portrays as a black child, and doesn't mention how Cinna (brown hair green eyes) was played by Lenny Kravitz. They didn't even slap some gold flecked green contacts in his eyes. Man at least have him walk around shirtless if your going to cast him.

If you read the books it says Rue has dark skin. So I mean you could also see her as maybe a darker Hispanic and not black, but when I hear someone has dark skin I assume they're at least not white.

Hunger Games was a surprisingly good movie to me. I didn't really care what race people were, it just looked stupid to me before I saw it, then a stripper recommended it to me during a lap dance so I downloaded it and it was pretty good.

i thought that the whole "why is Rue black thing was complete bullshit, it clearly stated in the book that she was.

No, what gets me isn't that there were some people that were shocked Rue was black in the movie (like she was supposed to be). It's that there were people out there that felt Rue's death wasn't as tragic BECAUSE she was black.

I got choked up in the theater when Rue died, but now it's ruined because people were going like, "Oh I wanted to cry when Rue died, but she was black, so I just rolled my eyes."

I thought it was clear from the book that Rue wasn't white. Cinna and Katniss on the other hand got fucked up. While it irked me a small amount that Cinna wasn't brown haired with gold flecked green eyes, what really annoyed me is they didn't get the main character right. Katniss is supposed to be petite and olive skinned, with grey eyes and black hair, not tall and very white with brown hair. Also the dog creatures at the end were horribly wrong and ruined the whole point of that scene.
