"Fats" Waller, Piano and Vocal. Issued Nov. 1943. This recording were made by a goverment program(V-Disc) during the music strike 1942-44 by the AFM. Fats Waller(V-Disc 32 A) said that Paul Robeson, "should be down here on this V-Disc business here this day." Little did he know that Paul Robeson(V-Disc 51 B) was. A funny piece of V-Disc history.

  • These V-disc recordings are part of United States music history and should not be muted. These recordings show the support the musicians in the 1940s had for the troops fighting overseas. This is part of U.S. history that is little known by much of the world. Many people around the world, especially veterans and their families appreciate hearing the music of their fathers and mothers. In respect and in honor of the soldiers who served for this country, these recordings should not be muted.
