Knights On LARPing

Lately I have been asked repeatedly about why I am not following proper LARP reg. People keep asking what LARP I am part of, well I happen to not belong to any. I have moved on from Larp and have opened a school to teach what I have been learning during the last 24 years of active learning the art of sword play. (I started when I was 8 yrs old.) I still use the medium of boffer to keep my students safe

this is true sir. People are going to hate...no matter what I do. Some people hate by choice..some hate because its all they know. I feel bad for them either way. This changes nothing. We are what we are..and what we are not...we are not.

Im not going to just start bashing this or anything but seriously what is the appeal in this i can understand RP i suppose but the action of this kind of thing how ever you want to describe it whats the deal with it? i never understood it....like an ejoyment of Renaissance or medieval???i just dont quite get it lol

@DXDanselasDX Some people find joy in dance. Their movements get lost in the rythem and they truly let go. Moments of true-self being in the flow. Some find this with art of all kinds, but some find it in jogging..or practiceing martial arts. The tool is nothing more than a tool. Since many of us have backgrounds with ren-fair or SCA or the like..we chose this mode..this form, The code is based off my thought that if you are to teach this..you should also try to not make monsters.

Check out Amtgard... Technically a LARP, but actually more of a Boffer Sport!!

I have watched quite a few of your videos and feel that you would have your eyes opened in a large fashion by our organization...

Our organization, Amtgard, has honed boffer combat into highly effective Martial Art form, if you will...

You made the comment that your "Knights of Grey" would come to visit other games...

Find an Amtgard field near you and go visit!!!

You should join a dag group. That's less LARPing than you are doing, people don't act out as characters, and its all combat oriented.

Love the way you guys have fun. I'm a reenactor and a larper, and what you guys do does look like a larp or very similar to something like larp or the SCA but focusing on the combat. But I wont argue the point, thanks for keeping an open mind to larp and wish you all the best in your 'martial pursuits" (if thats an accurate coining :D )
