  • I reckon less than ten percent of Oscars are actually deserved, the remainder is all political and a ''who's who'', old boy network thing, more so today. We all know between ourselves when someone is deserving of recognition, more so than those who actually decide on it.

  • If Gene was artificial and mannered she was effective in her portrayal. The contrast of the

two women's characteristics were important to the scene and the film.I too salute Anne Baxter's work in this film but also admire Gene's subtle and intelligent performance.

  • Thanks for posting this - loved Anne Baxter immensely - fantastic actress

  • Anne Baxter was a favorite of mine always. I think she was especially beautiful in this movie.

  • Tierney is effective, but very artificial and mannered. Baxter is gut-wrenchingly real, especially for this time period in the cinema.

  • Loved Baxter in "Key Largo"

  • GeneTierney is amazing. Baxter is good.

  • What an intense scene! Oscar deserved.

  • she's alright...over the top, but alright.
