This was my favorite school film from my childhood. Seeing it again brings back vivid memories and almost makes me cry. It seemed that nobody else had this up on here, so I had to do it! Enjoy!

I was 11 in 1974. My memories of this are not too strong. I remember the babies and little else. Nice positive messages here. I don't thing we could every expect anything like this in today's day & age (except maybe from PBS).
Thank you so much for posting this! I bought the 35th anniversary edition of the book for my son (he's only 9 months old, but he loves to be read to), and I love the message of the book. It also brings back a lot of memories from my own childhood. I would love to get this video! And the full CD...the book only came with 4 of the songs. :(
Mooncrystle, thank you for posting this. Brings back a lot of memories. Please, do not pay attention to some of the ignorant comments - btw, ignorance is not stupidity - it means lack of knowledge, and a lot, if not most of your posters have no knowledge of that time. They are living a life that would not have been possible then, because of efforts like the people involved in this educational telefilm who were trying to open up minds to gender disparity. through ignorance, they are negating it.
How simple life seemed at 1974. Why can't we have free easy going attitudes like this anymore?? Its so sad to see how we have all become so materialistic and hell bent on technology to the point were it controls our lives.
Life was not simple at all. It was an uphill climb for men and women to break out of the stereotypes of the 50's - Men were breadwinners, women were breeders. These efforts by Marlo and friends were a step in a positive direction - trying to educate people that all males did not want to be strong silent types, and all women did not want to be stay at home breeders, but most of both sexes wanted to be parents and give their children a better life. It was a time of conflict.
As a therian who also feels incomplete without a small vestigial tail, I must say that I am kind of offended that this seminal hippy classic does not say that you can be any SPECIES you want to be or have any animallike body marks. They didn't know, but to me this seems to say "Free to Be Whatever Human You Want to Be, Nothing Else".
