Interviewer should not even be a musician. Go listen to Jane's Addiction, Been Caught Stealing. It is one of THE WORST songs I've ever heard in my life and this dude wrote it.

@davethehostage Fair enough. I personally don't care for the vast majority of metalcore either, but that's because I have very high standards for musicality in metal. I know exactly what specific elements of the music I like and which I despise. For example, I like rough vocals and hate Bruce Dickinson-style metal singers. But I don't like incomprehensible, non-melodic death grunt either, and AILD is one of those. I prefer the style of Randy Blythe from Lamb of God; rageful, harsh, but clear.

@EntropicMisanthropic I'm not even a fan of Jane's Addiction, but I'd take them over any Christian metalcore act any day of the week. Metalcore today is the most boring, predictable genre aside from popular music. *Chug chug chug/ Bree/ Breakdown*, and repeat.

@davethehostage I know who Dave Navarro is, and I would not disagree that Jane's Addiction is a much older and more established band, but as he self-deprecatingly notes, it's essentially a career filled with glam rock and tights. You can't really compare an indie metalcore band with Christian influences to major-label millionaire popular funk/glam rock acts like RHCP or JA.

All pop and glam rock needs to die in a fire. Also anybody who's been married to Carmen Electra. METALCORE FOREVER.
