@frklgrl in the bible it describes Moses coming down from the mount with the commandments as having glowing skin. The idea that being in the presence of God he was changed. Later translations first to Greek and then to Latin described it as rays of light. Michelangelo sculpted Moses and depicted the rays of light as horns. This has allowed for anti Semitic statements about Jews having horns and ergo are devils.

@diggthepigg - I was merely stating their gripe with this collection not looking for a debate. ease up tiger.

@neorquino and so what. look how jews appropriate themselves.

Actually the Orthodox Jewish community was opposed to his appropriating traditional garb and felt he was trivialising and mocking them.

brilliant.
I recall that there was a lot of backlash against this collection. (I look at it now and it still looks so beautiful to me.) If I recall properly, people were upset about the fusion of the orthodox religious garb and the gender-bending. That seems like a such a dated view of the collection today, but really it just puts into perspective the extent to which Gaultier has always been groundbreaking. I love this so much. Thank you JPG!!
