Every government has the right, indeed a duty, to protect it's citizens and it's borders. If I was the Iranian president, and had to suffer constant threats from the US and Israel, I'd be reinforcing my military and indeed building a nuclear deterrent (which seems to be the only thing the West takes seriously) as fast as I could. Why should these other countries be able to defend themselves, but not Iran?
