This is about the earliest Sacksioni piece that I learned to play - and one of the earliest Harry has written and recorded (back in 1976). Very simple, very charming, and playing it never gets dull.
The title translates as 'Blush' - the reddening effect on the cheeks when one realises that other people actually watch you play on YouTube :-)
Harry prides himself in having developed a guitar technique that combines bass, melody and accompaniment in one and the same style. For us, mortal players, the difficulty is in bringing out these three distinct qualities, either by a difference in tone (like the melody) or differences in volume (such as bringing out the bass and/or melody as compared to the accompaniment). That was my main focus in this performance of 'Blos'.
Here I play on my cheapest guitar, a new Chinese flat-top (Motion TD-187S) that I bought as a 'holiday guitar' for less than 200 bucks. It has a solid spruce top, rosewood sides and back, herringbone bindings, closed tuners etc.
I wish cheapy guitars were that good when I was 15 and started to play!
Recorded with my laptop's webcam. Just added a little reverb afterwards. Enjoy!

Beautiful. Thanks for sharing... Where did you get the sheet music from?
cbvillanueva 1 year ago
@cbvillanueva: Hi cbvillanueva. Thanks for your compliment! This is indeed a nice little gem. Harry has been putting out sheet music from time to time. 'Blos' is in his very first book, aptly titled "Harry Sacksioni, gitaar". You can order all his sheet music on his website, harrysacksioni.nl. And even the comprehensive guitar method he put out last year (including two BIG volumes, a LOT of sheet music, and a DVD).
But watch your mailbox, too. :-)
