Well, Lockheed skunked up the Raptor. The Raptor would be great, if it could fly more often. Now, they are skunking up the JSF = F-35.. The JSF stinks no matter how you smell at it.

The UK should navalize the Typhoon. Add a stronger engine with thrust vectoring; EJ230, stronger landig gear and a hook. Use a ski jump on the new carriers. Voila, you get yourself a great strike/fighter for half the cost and a lot better than the skunked up F-35

Oh, so the prohibitive cost of the F-22 and Typhoon are the reason for getting the F-35? Well let's look at the prices, shall we?! F-22 "fly-away-cost" 150 million$; Typhoon= 100 million $. The F-35 is already projected to be at around 140 million $. So?

Here's an idea, next time doing something like this, have a common airframe that has one big engine for the airforce and marines, and two smaller ones for the navy.

I bet the Russians will take the X-32's design and sqaush it flat, from top to bottom, give it 4 wings instead of 6, and give their new MIG a 3D thrust vectoring nozzel. Just like they did when they took our YF-23 and put it on steroids and called it Pak-Fa T-50.

This is the same program that appeared on the PBS series NOVA under same title (and seemingly the same narration). Funny to listen to this this and know what will happen next due to the age of the show.
