The fact is that most of your punters are so liquored up or on E to know if a DJ can mix or not.

The formula for being a popluar dj is either to be at the top of your game or be a bubblegum dj. A bubblegum dj relies on mashups and things like the corona girls to divert attention from what real djs do.

Real dj's come in the form of a mix master mike, Mark Farina, Derrick Carter or Ritche Hawtin.

If I wanted gimmick I'd glue my eyes to my set and watch MTV Spring Break.
