An Act to Restrict Government Financial Aid to Private Businesses

WHEREAS the recent economic decline has caused significant financial strain
WHEREAS the province of Nova Scotia does not anticipate significant increases in revenues from federal sources in the coming years
WHEREAS transfers for health and social programs are also expected to grow at a rate that is much slower than rising cosrs
WHEREAS the current economic climate presents fiscal challenges to the province of Nova Scotia
WHEREAS reductions in government spending have a deterimental impact on the economy of the province
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Province of Nova Scotia will not provide financial aid for any private business in the province that is unable to remain operational due to the recent economic downturn.
