@macie20236 That's a goldfish, they usually get about a foot long and live 25 - 40+ years if cared for properly.

I actually had a fish myself who exploded.
I think what happens is that if you over feed them, they'll just keep eating... I'm not sure if fish can feel the actual sense of being full.
So they eat until they literally pop.
And it isn't pretty to clean up, let me tell you...

that's a comet goldfish (feeder). they can get up to a foot long. this is normal. p.s. i work at a petsmart.
