Kristy was sitting at her desk when she got a phone call.
"Hello?"
"Hi Kristy. It's Sammi."
"Hi Sammi. What's wrong? You sound like you've been crying."
"Kristy...James is dead."
"What?"
"He and Luke were walking home from the movie theater and he...he got hit by a car."
"No...no he can't be dead!" Kristy burst into tears.
"I'm so sorry Kri-" but Kristy hung up.
Nick looked up at Kristy's window. He could see her writing on a piece of paper and smiling to herself. 'She's so beautiful when she smiles,' he thought. Then her phone rang. He watched her expression. Suddenly she started crying. Nick gasped and ran into the house, running up the stairs two at a time. He ignored Liz who yelled, "Nick what's wrong?"
Nick ran in and saw Kristy kneeling on the floor crying into her hands. Nick held her in his arms, letting her cry into his shoulder.
A split second later Liz dashed in. "Nick what...Oh my God Kristy what's wrong?"
Mandy, Joe, and Kevin ran in next. "What's wrong?" Kevin asked looking at Kristy.
Kristy looked up and said, "James...James is dead!"
"Oh no." Mandy knelt down next to Kristy told Nick to let go. She lifted up Kristy's chin and wiped off some of her tears but new ones just took their place. "Come here." Mandy led her to the bed and sat her down. She held her and said, "Shh, it's okay." Mandy gently rocked her back and forth.
"He's not s-supposed to d-die Mandy!" Kristy sobbed.
Liz ushered the boys out saying, "This is girl talk time."
"Who's James?" Nick asked as Liz retreated back into Kristy's room.
"Probably an old boyfriend." Joe shrugged.
"Joe!" Kevin punched his arm.
"Wh- oh...sorry Nick..." Joe said, seeing the expression on Nick's face.
"But she said that was her first kiss." Nick offered.
"Well...sometimes you can have a boyfriend or girlfriend and never kiss..." Kevin said, "Sorry buddy."
"No. It's okay. She was never my girlfriend in the first place so I mean...I'm not mad." Nick put on a fake smiled but then sighed. "I wish she would give us a chance for our love to start."
"She'll never see if she doesn't give you a chance...." Joe said.
Nick brightened up. "Hey that gave me an idea for a song!"
"Yes! Let's do this thing man!" Kevin yelled, grabbing Nick and Joe and racing into the basement.
Four hours later Liz and Mandy dragged Kristy out of her room. "Kristy you have to get out of your room sometime!"
"I don't want to come out!" Kristy yelled, trying to get out of their grasp. "Besides I look like crap!"
"Oh you look fine...hey what's that?" Liz asked, her ears perking up.
"I've never heard this one." Mandy pulled her sisters down the steps and to the basement door. They could hear Nick singing.
Too late to pretend,
you know me better then I know myself,
dont take my heart and put it on a shelf.
"Ohh that has a nice beat!" Mandy started dancing around.
"Yeah...wonder who it's about." Liz danced with Mandy.
"It's about me." Kristy whispered.
Liz looked over at Kristy. "No way." She listened to the lyrics.
She's such a flirt,
and I am a lonely heart,
give it a chance,
for our love to start.
But she'll never see,
If you dont give me a shot,
to show you what Ive got
but its too late to pretend.

"You don't think..." Liz said, "No. I will not allow this." She stormed down into the basement.
"Liz what are you..? Ahh!"
"Liz!" Kristy yelled, pulling Mandy down the stairs with her.
Joe was holding Liz back away from Nick who was rubbing his cheek.
"Liz," Mandy sighed, "what did you do?"
"I slapped him." Liz stated.
"Why?" Kristy asked.
"Cause he called my sister a flirt!"
Kristy couldn't help cracking up. "Liz you're crazy!"
"Yes I am." Liz stuck out her tongue at Nick. Nick laughed too.
"Well I see that you're happy again," Nick smiled at Kristy. Kristy's face faltered for a second but then she forced herself to smile back.
"Now that everyone's happy...scary movie time!" Liz yelled, pulling out of Joe's grasp and tossing movies everywhere as she searched for another good one.
"No!" everyone screamed at the same time.
"Aww why not?" Liz frowned. "Okay fine," she sighed, "We'll watch a romantic one."
"Yes!" Mandy and Kristy yelled. Nick, Kevin, and Joe just moaned.
"Let's do something productive..." Kevin offered.
"Eww!" Kristy, Mandy, and Liz shouted.
"NO! That's not what I meant!" Kevin yelled.
They calmed down and Nick said, "How about go-cart racing?"
"Yes!" everyone jumped in the air.
"Wow...that was such a movie moment." Liz laughed.
