http://sogood.tv Heather Johnston discusses Food Matters, Mark Bittman's new book on "eating that is healthy for your body and the planet," reports on "Healthy Choices Night" at her children's elementary school, and cooks a "double veg" Wednesday night dinner featuring green beans with mustard and olive oil and broccoli with lemon and tabasco. She pairs this meal with a Sicilian white wine, La Spigola.

(Yes, very healthy - but watch out, the next video is mini-burgers, with some really good tips, too!)

  • HI, I have Pneumothorax. It happened because I am underweight (not was, because I still am). I am advised to eat lots of meat, along with veggies etc.

Yes, LOTS of meat. Yes I am a dood. Yes, both the men and women doctors advised me so.

However, I have already been eating a lot prior to the incident. Sometimes, eating less isn't good for you. Eat according to what suits you best.

Now, on top of my already enormous diet, I have to supplement it with more food, especially meat.

  • I have been trying myself also to eat less meat. But mine has been this natural progression. like my body hasnt been craving it as much and i agree, i dont think we need as much as we tend to eat. I have been trying to find dishes that are made with just vegtables. And not containing tofu! Maybe if you have time to do some main dish dinners with out meat. Awesome videos!

  • You really inspire me to have a more active role with food, what I put in my body and how to try and co exist and work with the planet, and not be a parasitic being..Keep up the good work Heather!

  • Good to see Heather again! Love the dinner idea. I am also not a vegetarian, but try to add them to my diet as much as possible. Thanks for the ideas!

  • I'm overworked and underpaid like the rest of the world, so my blog took a backseat. So sorry it has taken me FOREVER to post. I'm shooting again on Sunday, so hopefully I can get another one out this week. Mini Burgers! Thanks for watching I really appreciate it.

  • YUMMY!

  • Where has she been!? I was worried Heather had stopped making videos. Thank you this is inspirational to me, I will get my kids to do it and maybe that will get them to eat their vegatables!

  • Its good to see you, Heather!

  • you're always thinking and doing such wonderful wonderful things with food.

  • I think I will get that book. Great meal. I will add that to the family meal choice for next week. I also like that you used chicken thighs Sometimes I can buy a large family pack for less than $3.00.
