On Aug 11, 2007 The Sunshine Coast Regional District (SCRD), Local Board of Health issued an Order against Western Forest Products logging in the most sensitive areas of the Chapman Creek Watershed that was the subject of complaint. The Order also imposes new restrictions and monitoring requirements to further protect the water quality. The SCRD wishes to reiterate it's commitment to the protection of the entire watershed through all other avenues. The local Health Board was limited by the terms of the Health Act.
The SCRD thanks everyone who contributed to this hearing and looks forward to working with all interested parties on this vital issue. To view the Order doccument go to: www.yourwatershed.com
