This historic 1848 authentic Danish Windmill from Nørre Snede Denmark is in Elk Horn Iowa USA. The 60 foot tall windmill was rebuilt piece by piece by over 300 community volunteers 35 years ago. It stands tall as a tribute to our Danish ancestors and made the impossible dream come true.
Produced and Edited by Steve Rold.

@rockgor Hej! "Ha det bra" Is Swedish or Norwegian. We say "Ha` det godt"
The national language, Danish, is closely related to Swedish and even more to Norwegian!

I was looking up "elk in Iowa" and came across Elkhorn. I visited some
Elkhorn sites including the museum. Looks like a nice town and an
interesting place to visit.
I was born in Decorah (home of the Vesterheim Museum) and grew up
in MN. Now I live in Los Angeles. The weather here is better, but
the Mid west has the better people. SOL (Smiling out loud.)
Thanks for the fascinating post. Bedste onsker. Ha det bra.

I remember visiting the windmill as a young boy in the late '70s. I had no idea until just now that the windmill had JUST been put up.
Elkhorn is always on my mind when I go back to Iowa. Always wanting to stop in at the windmill's restaurant to get some cooking like Grandma used to make. How I miss my Danish food :-(
Thanks for putting up this video.
