  • Perhaps you can discuss how you use your battery bank. Is it too big or too small for your needs or do you try to live based on what it can provide?

  • @Schweizer135 I live normaly if there were a long term power outage I sised my system for what I think is important lights and all my refridgeration. I can run the generator for less assential things.

  • Thanks for that i was gonna ask how you maintain your batts you read my mind and "beat me to the punch" btw next video should be on your buddies outback system id like to see that in action!!

    regards John

  • @fanman1981 I will try to do that if he ever gets off his butt. It was all still sitting ther in the back ground.

  • I couldn't tell, was the charger a La Marche unit?

If so do you have problems with the rectifiers?

In our battery rooms we have to keep constant air flow for gas and heat.

We almost had a string go thermal (104*) overload, the electrolyte plates were failing and the company didn't want to spend to replace them, until we about lost them.

  • @ristin59 That is a Charles marine charger. they are great chargers and easy to find used

  • do you need to ground the battery bank

  • Hi Kevin, I have a short question. Do you need to ground your battery bank to a ground rod outside, and if so do you ground it to the neg side of the battery to the ground rod?

    Thanks, Carey from Texas

  • I like the question Schweizer has mentioned.. I`m running 200 watts of solar and storing the power for lighting... i think 10v its as far as i`ll let a battery go low. and then charges back up the following day on solar
