  • @resinblade99 OK. GOt news for you IT DOESNT WORK! Primarilly because WHILE IN DOS BOX IT DOESN'T LET MY SYSTEM MOUNT ANOTHER CD DRIVE UNTIL THE PROGRAM IS SHUT OFF!!!! So if I remove the cd 1 from the ripper so that I can put in cd 2, IT NEVER MOUNTS ON MY SYSTEM!!!! NOT EVEN ONCE! That is where the frustration and sheer FAIL comes in to Dos Box for Linux IT DOESN'T WORK!!!

  • @stopthrm interesting. i have not tried to play a multiple disc game in dosbox yet, so that's good to know. i just looked this up...so i guess it was an intended function?

"When mounting multiple images (useful for any application which requires discs to be swapped while it is running), you can then switch between the mounted disk-images by pressing Ctrl+F4 (by default) while your application is running."

-from dosbox wiki under subject: mount

  • @resinblade99 OK here is the thing everything pretty much works but you have to remember to turn double buffering. But here is the rub, I can get it to mount one disk but when I try to mount another disk, the system doesn't even mount it until I completely back out of Dos Box. I guess there is no alternative but to make an iso for each disk and try to mount them all at once...

  • @stopthrm i've never tried that particular game, but according to the dosbox site it's supported. also looks like the last patches for ripper are needed (1.05). might have to do some googling to find them. try that and the latest version of dosbox (0.74). good luck.

  • @stopthrm btw disk mounting works just fine in windows. I am running Ubuntu 10.04...

  • I have trouble trying to play Ripper in DOSBOX Linux. Whenever I try to run it, the game menu pops up but if I try to do anything else like start a new game, etc that needs the disk it doesnt recognize it anymore... Any suggestions?
