Asheron's Call: A Complete Overview (Part 1 of 3)

Asheron's call is an MMORPG which I feel in today's market, is poorly explained, so I decided to do something about it. This video pretty much outlines the major features, mechanics, and details of the game that a new and even returning player might not know, and also includes stuff that even veteran players don't know about. There is so much to this game beneath the surface that it just has to be explained. Anyways, enjoy this documentary style show!

@holysab7 Considering they claimed AC would shut down 7 years ago and every year since then (much like those end-of-the-world predictions for mankind), I'd think it's pretty safe to say the developers know what they are doing.

@DesertSmeagle Players are not always stuck in the roles they play when they create a character. In AC its always a choice between versatility and focus. In many cases, certain situations can give certain characters an edge. Some character setups made by people are terrible solo but really shine in groups (IE: a specialized life casting character without war magic). Most of the time, what is "gimp" is really just a matter of opinion rather than fact.

I gotta say.. this kinda makes me want to play again, was so good back in the day. :) ..but also so many bad memories of trying to reclaim items from my broken body that i couldn't find and/or get to alive. :P

@Kep2k I liked it more than Everquest myself. ^^ but sooo hard just being dropped in the world alone with no map and no direction. :P I could never get passed the dropping items on death either, one time too many and that was the end of AC for me :P

@holysab7 I'll tell you, I used to play AC when it was first released, and after at least 8 years now, I'm starting to get back into it, and AC is still the best MMO out there... it's not going anywhere.

@holysab7 You will not regret atleast trying this game. Yes, it is not in it's prime... you might as well go play WoW if that's what you're looking for. But this is a great video that really maps out the pros of this mmo with its technological lacking. It's a pioneer of MMO's (and better than EverQuest imo) the community was unmatched, the gameplay was unmatched.. and I dare and MMO out there to match the fun I had when playing this game.

I played this game,,,way back in the day... And quite honestly...it truly was the BEST MMO out there...then and now...you just can not find the same type of game online.. Ah///fond memories... I remember calling the one place that had all the portals...the Subway..that was a HUGE bonus...as for getting around! Man... I really do miss this game... *sighs* I wonder if it is still possible to Power Level a toon?

If it was F2P I would be gaming it right now. but it's not... I grew up on EQ and I remember AC2. I wish games were like this.
