these "invasive species" do not use that much water russian olive are not that bad besides the fact that they provide shelter for many white tailed deer and other critters and cutting down these trees is cutting down majorly on these populations

take all the trees from within 200 feet from the river.
including cotton woods.

also I use rain barrels to garden with, one inch of rain will give me 1,100 gallons off my roof.
