are having their own issues and attrition rates are high. The Lord Jesus said "many are called, few are chosen"...if he started the Church with 12 why do we need a million nuns? The Church is made of humans and life is gray. Groomer u need a reality check thay black and white Catholicism won't save the day. The 50s are over.

@2groomer. First, you say sisters and the not true nuns. Nuns and sisters are not the same. Nuns are cloistered women bound to their convents and sisters were lay women who consecrated themselves to the apostolic life. Because they don't wear what you like doesn't undo their sisterhood. Their profession to the vowed life and witness of the Gospel is what makes them nuns. If a married person did not wear a ring would s/he not be married? The habit was the dress of the lay people, so V2

@smittabeth1 You are right! I live at a college run by these sisters, and their largest convent is on campus as well. They truly are faithful to God's call of loving everyone.

@2groomer, I'm pretty sure all of that is false. And kind of ignorant. Humorously so. The pope hasn't demanded habits since Vatican II. In doint so, he tacitly proclaimed that there are more important issues that wardrobe. The particular ministries that the Sisters of Saint Joseph do often requires them to wear clothes that are easier to work in than the habit. Habit or none, I thank these women faithful to God's call.

These are not true "sisters". True religious nuns wear their habits and distinguish themselves as a bride of Christ and not dress to mingle in with the secular laity. Unfortunately, that's exactly what they have become,...Secular, and they enjoy it. They are a disgrace to the true calling from God to be His bride. Thank goodness for all the new young women and men seeking Traditionalism and OBEDIENCE to the POPE. Next time you see a habitless SSJ ask her if she even owns a rosary or uses it!
