Yoshi's Story - Magma Castle

This TAS aims to collect all the melons, all 3 hearts and beat baby bowser in a fast manor. I made a TAS like this several months back, but it was really bad and its route had major flaws in it. I recently decided to redo the whole thing.

This game is a weird game to TAS because it looks very glitchy with most video plugins and I could only get an almost non-buggy playback using "Glide64 v.0.8 Wonder." Even with that, the emulator would freeze after about 4k worth of capturing frames, so making the video complete was frustrating.

As for the TAS, there are several tricks that were used. First off, if you ground-pound on the last frame, yoshi will still have a round-pound effect but the dust animation wont happen. Secondly, hopping after collecting a fruit/throwing an egg makes yoshi maintain some speed instead of having a stopping animation. Lastly, if you hold a and fire an egg on the correct frame, yoshi will still maintain be able to jump somewhat.

At 1:30 you collect eggs from the box, but you can do it faster, when you jump down the next pit, and aim with an egg, than aport the throw, and youll increase the count by one as long as youre invincible.
