In September 1989, a Partnair Convair 580 plunged into the sea just off the coast of Denmark killing all 55 people on board. Due to the use of non-genuine spare parts, the bolts joining the tail section to the fuselage failed in flight leading to a catastrophic structural failure.

This show isn't about people dying. We're not watching it thinking, "Ooooh, I hope they have gory picture and detailed commentary on how the victims died!" The appeal of the show isn't the loss of life (in fact, that's the most tragic aspect of it) but the revelations of how something as simple as a loose screw, or a brief lapse in concentration, can lead to such catastrophic events. Any time there's a plane crash the first thing people ask is "What went wrong?" This show answers that question.

I love this tv show, but think of it. We're watching people die, it's just so evil. They are making shows where people die.........and we're watching them. The same about war documentaries, we're seeing real ww2 footage where people gets blown to bits, that's just gross!

R.I.P. all people who died in war or in other horrible situations.

I'm just wondering... as part of Aircraft maintenance do they ever actually take the tape out of the CVR and listen to it just to make sure it REALLY works? I mean how else would you know for sure?

@BIGGREENLEAF1 :) I think the warning sounds like that on a lot of different aircraft. Just a computer generated voice.
