US cities spending splash blinds City Hall from human cost of cuts

As the U.S. President's impending budget announcement looms, there are some who say it will slash the amount going to poverty reduction programmes. But with many U.S. cities running on thread bare service levels already, it's a cut they can ill afford.

@splifsend I'm willing to do the research, but would you please point me in the right direction? I really did think that "public" meant just that, but I know different governments fight for control. I know that there's a fight over control of my City Police and the Board of Education between the City and the State. Also, certain State highways within the City were given over to the State for maintenance, several years ago.

@Soularddave ok you obviously think that goverments own these things you talk about, you better do some research, because you will find that the police are a private corporation and that roads are run by a private corporation ect ect, goverments only make rules and regulations to govern these agencies, and in return for the favour they collect revenue, which they then can spend on killing little brown men in poor countries.

@splifsend or get government to "rob" the right people - and corporations. Of course people who want to eliminate government should stop using public resources like roads, bridges, police, social security, medicare, building inspections, safety and environmental laws, airports, etc.
