http://musicproductioncourses.net/ Logic tutorial from the boutique music school. If you're familiar with the different ways of zooming in Logic then zip forward to 4 minutes. You will see the way I use loops and why I don't use the loop tool.

  • - ALT and mouse swipe is far too chaotic so pointless.

    - control and alt is TWO buttons so twice as much hassle as my method back in the olden days

    - Click and hold the play head is taken from Ableton but its floor is that you can't choose an area to focus on efficiently

    - z zooms you right into the region so you can't see anything around it at all.

You should try making more music and read less manuals :)

  • You're right, pressing escape to show MOST tools is most efficient (but not zoom tool)

Assigning zoom tool to to the right mouse button is by far the quickest and most efficient way to focus on an AREA of your arrangement to work on for me - it only requires one hand with no need for the left hand (as I'm right handed) to press any keys.

Before we had the right mouse button, I assigned 'control' to show zoom tool which USED to be best in my opinion.

  • You should READ the manual ;)

    .:TOOL TIPS:.

Press ESC while your cursor hovers over the arrangement window, quick way to select tools.

    .:ZOOMING TIPS:.

    - Hold ALT and use your mouse ball (quick)

    - Hold Control+Alt to automatically activate zoom tool, drag over area you want to focus on (quick and accurate)

    - Click and hold on the playhead, then drag your mouse down (VERY ACCURATE and quick)

  • Excellent tip! Been trying to figure out how to zoom in with quick keys for a long time now.

  • OR: select the region you wish to observe or modify ... now press Z

  • Great tip!

It doesn`t feel "fiddly" at all, and after a day`s work, while working on another project I already miss it.

    Stored in my template.

    Thanks!
