I've been scavaging my hard drive and found some video game music that I honestly don't know so this isn't a quiz, it's actually a bit of help.

VGM believe it or not is actually more complex than many people would think from the styles to the consoles used. Usually knowledge of VGM can vary with many knowing NES/SNES stuff or knowing the composers, while my knowledge of NES/SNES is limited (due to not being American/German/Scandinavian and for the SNES side not into RPGs) first of all so it is more on the Master System/Mega Drive side. Some stuff other people might not know like K. Mixa is Koujiro Mikusa or Sound Images is either Tony Williams or Paul Touge or both depending on game but these songs on here I honestly don't know.

These songs on my hard drive were either some gibberish, "Track #" or Sound Test ##.

Update: By luck managed to identify the game of #12 as well as #15 and #20 completely. Thanks to eggbandicoot6 for finding #17 for me. Still need the others finding and where #12 is used in the game.

  • With Number 19, that track doesn't appear in the PS1 Speed Racer game by Jaleco, though I recently read about a Speed Racer arcade cabinet that was developed by Namco in the Mid-90's. I have a feeling that it might be from that, since the music does have that 'Namco-feel' to it, IMO.

  • You still haven't updated the description for 18?

  • Number 13 must be from Crue Ball. Or Mutant League Football maybe.

Number 14 is from Ridge Racer, I think (must be from some RR game, all I can remember is that it was as the music on a PSP EBOOT of the first game that I got)

Number 16 must be from ATP Tour Championship Tennis.

Number 19 could be from that Speed Racer game for PS1 (not sure since I haven't played it)

  • I think #17 is Jane's theme from Fighting Vipers, which was later used again in Fighters Megamix. And I believe #18 was from the SEGA CD version of the game, Wonder Dog.
