Thanks GTRF1V8 for the info and reply. Next Thursday night Sydney time, i will jump into my car and drive the 5 minutes to the Parramatta Speedway. I'll get my Sprintcar flame out moment,when these beasts rumble their way around the fast and tacky clay track. Your fellow Americans Steve and Kraig Kinser,Donny Schatz,Jason Sides,Jason Myers,Danny Lasoski, Jason Johnson and a few more have made the pilgrimage to OZ.

they're not set up that way, but race cars have very fast fuel injection, and when they lift off the throttle, the fuel has no where to go, so it gets burnt and flames out of the muffler.

Can somebody explain the technical reason why the the engine/mufflers, are set up to emit flames???
