This is a video I made awhile back and just recently took the time to split and put onto YouTube. It's a little outdated with some of the methods I use but is still a good base for anyone looking to start their own colony. One thing I want to point out is that I do not add juice to the water crystals anymore. They were accumulating mold too fast when I did that. Plain water is just fine.

  • They look like they have a harder shell then crickets, will a Beared get compacted.

  • I highly recommend them for Beardies.

  • how many times do they molt a month/week?

i juss got 200 mixed at an expo a couple hours ago

  • Don't know. I don't spend my time observing them lol.

  • What setting do you set your heatpads at, and do you put them under the whole enclosure?

Im starting to breed them for my beardie,

and just wondering becuase yours look pretty happy

  • Just under 1 side of the enclosure. Try to create a heat gradient as you would for a reptile.

  • @snipesnrifles No don't worry they don't have so much heat to melt the plastic

  • do they breed quicker the higher the temp? because the temps in mine are

103f on the bottom (closest to the heatmat)

85f in the middle of the egg crates

    77f on the top

  • could a gecko handle these? or they to hard shelled

  • how long do they take to grow. i bought some medium ones for my bearded dragon, just wondering how long it will be before i know what sex they are.

  • can i breed small dubia feeder cockroach's? i just want to breed them for fun...maybe get a turantula and feed them to it.

  • I bought some from this website and I ordered 100 adults and got no males! I'm so mad!

  • instead of a heat pad can u just use a heat lamp?

  • can i feed them to my frogs? :/

  • @jackiedogster oh no.they are great for beardies

  • Females have a large last segment on their butt, males have a small one. same as nymphs and adults!

  • @jackiedogster They actually have a pretty soft shell and beardies love them!
