We walked along Michigan Avenue on Black Friday to let people know that Dairyland Racetrack will be closing at the end of 2009. This means the Chicago area is being flooded with 350 more greyhounds than usual... all needing homes.

Local rescue groups like Greyhounds Only and the Greyhound Alliance are providing food, shelter, and ultimately finding permanent homes for these amazing dogs... yes, even silly ones dressed as presents.

To donate, foster or adopt your own grey - head to www.greyhoundsonly.com and www.greyhoundalliance.org.

  • My dog retired from Dairyland in February 2009.

  • I'm very much interested in GreyHounds. I would also like to adopt one. But i'm from Bangalore(India). I've a similar breed ( MudholHound/caravanHound). Please let me know how to adopt it.

  • Love the sweaters! Do you have a pattern or link to the seller? I'd love to have these for my own hounds.
