Sky News Host: Multiculturalism caused Tottenham Riots!

I was gobsmacked when I watched this. The Sky News anchor asks the most loaded question you'll ever hear in which blames the riots on the fact that Tottenham is a racially-mixed area. This is a good example of how the mainstream Media and politicians play the divide and rule tactic and thus get the far-right frothing at the mouth. Previously I titled htis video "Sky News Racism" but I changed it after reading some of the comments which pointed out that the woman wasn't really being racist.

In amongst the predictable racist bufoonery in the comments, there have been some good critical questions and comments posed to me. One person said:

"the ethnic mix of the people leads to drastic cultural contrasts which can lead to more chaos in times of unrest. That is not a racists statement so much as a cultural observation."

My reply to this was: "Fair enough, but this would be relevant if we were seeing inter-ethnic violence and trouble. But these people are acting together not against eachother. So for the woman to bring this point up at this time is simply her trying to push propaganda rather than objectively dealing with the actual fact."

I've kept the response of the reporter Mark White because I thought he did quite well to get back to the real issues. Shame he didn't just say "What the f*** are talking about you pathetic Daily Mail-reading tramp?" But there you go.

Background Info
On Thursday 4th August 2011, a man called Mark Duggan was shot dead by the Police in Tottenham in north east London. He is the latest of several people to have been killed following encounters with the police.

For two days, the whole area was cut off while police carried out investigations. On Saturday afternoon, local residents rallied at the police station to demand answers to what happened.

The rally was peaceful but it seems there was somekind of incident. Rumours are circulating that the police may have struck a young girl. In any case, the whole area kicked-off into rioting and looting throughout the night.

Looting also spread to nearby Wood Green with a car set ablaze and some looting

A race riot would involve people of various races rioting against each other, you have no idea what race the cop is under the helmet.
