You will find US Census data collected for registered Interracial Married Couples (as of 2010) in Data Table FG4 in the link below:

http://www.census.gov/population/www/socdemo/hh-fam/cps2010.html

Please note that my numbers are similar to those found on wikipedia. This is purely coincidental.

I forgot to mention in the video that I have no idea how the US Census Bureau accounted for multiracial people (i.e. asian/black dad and asian/white mom).

Also, the US government clumps data for races outside of white, black, and asian in the "Other Races" category. Additionally, Indians/Sri Lankans are considered Asians in these statistics.

  • Thanks for showing people the numbers. It becomes more of a reality when people can see hard data. I do agree that stereotypes play a large part in the reason why numbers are low. I have had numerous times where people would tell me why they would never date an asian male because of an uneducated/media-based stereotype. And from what I have read, AMWF and BMWF relationships are the most likely to get divorced but that's not happening between me and my asian! :)

  • @TMagdamo No problem. It is always good to get status updates to see where work is left to be done :D

  • Wah, I seriously thought that there would be less AMWF couples..Probably because where I live, there are no asians...TTuTT

  • @SoMeuhful What?!!! D: *teleports SoMeuhful to california* :D

  • thanks for sharing this info.

  • This video was funny as hell. Using all those abbreviations (I hope this is the right word) made it quite hard to follow, at least for non-english as a mother tongue speaking person.

  • Damn im still waiting for me to be one of those AMBW couples xo. Thanks, interesting statistics though not suprised

  • I love this video, thanks for the graphs! I can't say that I'm surprised that AMBW is the rarest interracial combo; it's been that way for a while, now. I think it's important to remember the difference between an interracial relationship and an interracial marriage. Sometimes people cohabitate and have children, but they're technically not married, or in a common-law relationship. Also, there are some people who may classify themselves as one race, even though they're actually mixed.

  • @Ksister920 *hugs* ^^

  • @ekollity28 Okay, I have compared almost all the interracial marriage data collected by the US Census Bureau from the 2001 to 2010, constructing data tables and graphs in the process. To confirm the analyses I have drawn, I need to cross-reference my findings with the divorce data. Only problem is I cannot find US Census Bureau divorce data (broken down by racial marriage pairings) anywhere. I need your help xD
