  • Hey there, Nice smooth shots u had there, but I have one question.

When you buy the glidecam 4000, does it come with something to attatch the DSLR camera to it?

Or do you have to buy that seperatly?

    Thanks in advance :)

  • @TehFoxit Something I forgot to point out: The Glidecam HD 40000 is too big for this camera. I had to add extra weights to make the top heavy. Specially with the monitor attached to the bottom...The Camera is rigged with "SHAPEwlb"/ PAPARAZZI RISER, with SLIDING RODS $190 and a Manfrotto quick release plate $40

The Glidecam doesn't come with heads or plates..

Get the small glidecam HD 2000. If you have bigger cameras, then buy the 4000 and some Glidecam weights plates $14 for the DSLR

  • Was the sled hand held or did you use a full rig also, (harness and arm)?

  • @aviatormxpilot "On this test I did not use the vest and arm (Glidecam Smooth Shooter)"

The camera is fully rigged as the picture next to the video...

    Take care!!

  • @gruponemesis Also buddy! On the video I clearly state in the way I'm shooting and in the info text that I'm going for wide shot, more DOH, meaning higher aperture because these cameras don't have auto focus..

Plus there is no lights on in the apartment ;) just daylight from outside. SO I needed Hi ISO. So I need a CAMERA with a full frame if I don't want noise from the cheap small sensor on this camera which is the same as the 7D. Chido?? :)

  • @gruponemesis LOL buddy! I have a nikon 50mm 1.8 aswell, can't be used for what I'm doing on this video which is having a DSLR on a glidecam rig and the lens focused close to infinity.

So you had your 50mm f/1.8 on a glidecam in full focus? LOL T2i has horrific ISO.

For what I'm doing, is either a 5D mkII or a Panasonic AG-AF100 full frame cameras with a prime 24mm f/3.5 and focus to infinity. OK? a 50mm 1.8 = to 85mm is too shallow.

There is nothing wrong with this lens. T2i? small sensor

  • @girotube i beg to differ on needing lights indoors....perhaps your lense is the problem...the one your using on this video is really horrible. Look at my indoor shots on my channel....50mm f 1.8. I rarely have to use iso 800...perhaps only during candlelight shots.

The T2i is an amazing camera....especially when running magic lantern.

  • Amazing floating effect :) Thumbs up.

  • @MARSHOMEWORLD Trying to put music into this thing from the stock audio..Found one close to the mood and length.! :)

The WB is set to daylight! One clip has the flat camera color set and the second has "correction" crushing blacks and saturation.. This camera has a horrible hi-ISO but outdoors is great.. For indoor I need lots of lights.. For that I'm waiting on getting the AG-AF100 full frame sensor. :)

On this test I did not use the vest and arm (Glidecam Smooth Shooter)

    Take care!!

  • That looks fantastic. Considering the different light temperatures and variables; the image quality is really good. Obviously you were testing the glide/steady cam aspect primarily (which is beyond smooth) but just sayin the pic looks great as well. Cheers.

ps-Nice drummming too. Excellent punch on the kick without being boomy; and the snare has an almost condenser/bottom miked feel to it. Great mix man(the key =a well tuned kit to beginwith, eh?)
