meditation begins when the restless mind becomes completely still. You cannot "catch" your mind. You must let go, let it come to a full stop rest, just like landing an aircraft. Roll to a complete stop. A plane is still an airplane even when it's in the hangar. Similarly, you are still you without all the thoughts. You will know when the mind has stopped because you will feel very, very happy. and, you will feel much more clarity, about everything.
