aww its so sweet. I love it - Kirk and Spock's friendship is a powerful thing to watch and I'm glad to see it hear. I too am not a fan of all this slashing. Perhaps people simply can understand a deep platonic relationship anymore, thats sad.

@hitchchik Someone's spouse is called their "Best Friend". Perhaps people NEVER understood the Platonic relationship, which was based on the mind connection, but STILL romantic!

@xXWilleWaloXx I'm sorry but "You're My Best Friend" was a song written by a straight guy about his WIFE, and sung by a bi guy about love in general, while he praised the value of a long-term friendship he had with a lady. SO!

@hitchchik I'm new, so honestly, I'm not trying to be argumentative. Once I heard of slash, that is exactly what I see when I watch the show, and can't interpret it any other way. For example, how do you explain the backrub scene without slash? I honestly can't remember what I thought the first time I saw it (before I had heard of slash.) If you've got another explanation, I'm game.
