This is my tribute to the greatest comedian to ever live, Mitch Hedberg. It's been 3 years and I still can't believe it. Rest in peace, Mitch. We loved you, too.

Song is "Slipped Away" by Avril Lavigne.

Mitch died of an accidental drug overdose on March 29, 2005.

He is remembered by his parents, Mary and Arne Hedberg, his wife, Lynn Shawcroft, and of course, us. He had no children.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one bawling.

In 2004, Montreal, Canada, I was lucky enough to cross him on Ste-Catherine street AND recognize him. Just 30 minutes before his show for which of course, I had tickets.

I shouted out "Mitch!!!!!" hoping it was really him. He stopped, I explained I was a fan, going to see his show, and that I first discovered him through Dr Katz.

"Right on!", he said with a smile.

Real nice guy. RIP Mitch.

i went to look up tour dates to see when he was coming to town,i live in ohio and closest he was coming was new jersey,less than a week later my bass player told me he died.i love this mans work,i put him on for my mom and she loved it.a legend in his field for sure.r.i.p.remember hicks,carlin.henny youngman,dangerfield,pryor also,dont forget giraldo,jennings and anyone you may have lost.reflect and smile.be good to eachother.
