Interview with Lisa Mumbin

In 1997 she was elected as the chairperson of the Jawoyn Association and has held this position for 8 and a half years. In her capacity as chairperson, Lisa holds a pivotal role in dealing with Jawoyn members as well as maintaining an active involvement with many other Aboriginal Communities and organizations within her region.
The organizations she is currently actively involved with are as follows: * Kalano Community Association * Kalano Age care, Rehabilitation Centre, Housing etc * ATSIC Garrak-Jarru Regional Council * Wurli Wurlinjang Health * Sunrise Health Board * Katherine Regional Aboriginal Health & Related Services * Nitmiluk Board Of Management * Nitmiluk Working Party Group * The conceptualisation of the Banatjarl Woman's Resource Centre where she also holds the position as the president.

Lisa has been fundamental in the establishment of important changes and implementations which have seen the Jawoyn Association thrive in the recent years.
