Iraqi nationals in diaspora took part in their national election in March 2010. Some Iraqi nationals did not have any Iraqi document to prove they were from Iraq but had British passports and Home Office documents which clearly stated they were from Iraq.

However, the Iraqi Electoral Commission initially decided not to allow these people to vote. When all negotiations failed to resolve this issue, Kurdish Iraqis protested, as they were disproportionately affected compared to Iraqi Arabs.
The police intervened to stop the protest and this led to the arrest of up to 40 Iraqi Kurds. Among those arrested were election observers.

  • if this was in iraq they wouldn't have bothered with 3 police and a pair of handcuffs, they would have just shot you!!! Count your self lucky, if you don't like it, then fuck off back to your on country!!!!!!

  • What's all that shit bout lol?!! Son ur nicked!!!

  • kurd is screaming like a donkey

  • british police owned

  • fuck you police of britain.

  • What a fucking pussy!!! try the police in other countries u get ur ass shot FUCK YOU!!!

  • @PlebScrubber The terms are specifically intended to be vague, so that police can stop and search anybody who needs to be. The fact that the young, poor ethnic minorities are the ones causing most of the problems, and the police are dealing with those problems does not make them racist. If rich white people are committing crime then that will be dealt with as well, but people don't seem to take interest in that because it doesn't support their "racist police" ideas.

  • @007RoyalFlush the problem comes with terms like reasonable cause and appropriate force... very vague terms that dont actually define anything specific... meaning the cops can abuse their power any way they wish... they target: Youth, Poor, Ethnic....

if your one of these they can beat you down for nothing and say you were acting suspicious.

If your all 3 your fucked.

Its a corrupt system designed to protect the rich and keep the poor in their place.

  • @PlebScrubber What a load of complete rubbish. The police have not only a right but a duty to punish these kids. Every citizen does have the same rights. If a policeman has reasonable cause to stop and search one car, it does not mean he has the same reason to stop another. What you're saying is complete nonsense. Your idea is actually the definition of a police state, stopping everyone. UK police stop those who need to be stopped.

  • @007RoyalFlush if its not a law, they have no right to punish these kids... its not a matter of what works or what is needed to maintain order... its a matter of every single citizen having the same rights. The cops never target older, wealthy people, 90 percent are poor, black kids - thats racistm to start with.

If the police see an elderly couple in a volvo, or a hotted up car full of black kids, they must treat both equally, and if they stop and search one, they must do it to both... balance
