While its body style may be most commonly associated with country music, the Fender Blacktop Telecaster HH was built for music of a more brutal sort. With its two over-wound humbuckers, the high-output Blacktop Tele loves gain, and churns out a far beefier low-end than the axe favored by folks like James Burton or The Boss.

Not that the Blacktop Telecaster HH can't handle a wide variety of music genres, however. As Gearwire's Owen O'Malley demonstrates in this video, those pickups have depth and definition when played clean, punch and dynamics when fed through moderate levels of gain, and tons of extreme EQ when placed in front of a modern high-gain distortion like the MXR Fullbore Metal.
